Name of Club: Board Game Club

Faculty Sponsor(s): Angela Mathis, Emily Pierce

Grade Level: K-2 (maximum number of students 20)

Cost: $30 (includes the cost of a T-shirt)

Purpose: Students interact and work with other students to play a variety of board games in order to enhance social skills, encourage flexible thinking, and increase hand-eye coordination.

Meeting times: Monthly

 

Name of Club: Colt Chorale

Faculty Sponsor(s): Deanna Hutto

Grade Level: 2

Cost: $20

Purpose: To encourage a love for singing and give students opportunities to perform in front of an audience.

Meeting times: Thursdays 4:00-4:45 pm

 

Name of Club: Colt Cooking Club

Faculty Sponsor(s): Allan Lee, Tricia Stone, Shelly Osborne

Grade Level: 1-2

Cost: $40 (cost includes T-shirt, food supplies, end of year celebration)

Purpose: To develop basic culinary skills while learning about real life applications of fractions, measurement and time.

Meeting times: Monthly meetings 3:45-5:15 (1st and 2nd grade will meet on separate days)

 

Name of Club:  Colt Communications Club
Sponsor(s):  Melissa Castle
Grade Level: 2
Cost: $20

Purpose: The Colt Communication Club empowers elementary students to become confident communicators and responsible leaders by producing and delivering our school’s daily morning announcements. As student news anchors, members of the club develop public speaking, teamwork, and media literacy skills while sharing important information, celebrating school achievements, and spreading positivity throughout our campus. Through creativity and collaboration, the Colt Communication Club helps build a connected and informed school community.

Planned Activities:  The club will meet Mondays from 4:00-4:45. Students will have a rotation and will only come one/two Mondays per month. 

 

Name of Club: Creative Colts Club

Faculty Sponsor(s): Rachel McKee

Grade Level: K-2

Cost: $45 for supplies and a T-shirt

Purpose: To promote a love for art.

Meeting times: Once per month, September through April

 

 

 

Name of Club: Fitness Club

Faculty Sponsor(s): Jodi Roland, Amy Hagler, Marissa Mixon, Logan Cook

Grade Level: K-2

Cost: None

Purpose: To promote physical fitness and understand the importance of exercise.

Meeting times: 4:00-4:30 (9/8, 10/20, 11/3, 12/1, 1/5, 2/2, 3/2)

 

Name of Club: Sports Club

Faculty Sponsor(s): Autumn Ring

Grade Level: K-2

Cost: $10

Purpose: To learn about and participate in various sporting activities.
