Meet Our Administration
Dr. Christie Bergh, Principal
Dr. Christie Bergh was named the Principal of Langston Road Primary School during the Houston County Board of Education meeting held December 9, 2025. Bergh is currently an assistant principal at Bonaire Primary School. She will begin this new role in June, following the retirement of current Principal Kelly Rush.
Bergh is a Warner Robins native and a product of the Houston County School District, graduating from Warner Robins High School. She previously served as an early intervention reading and math teacher and an instructional coach at Westside Elementary in Warner Robins. She served ten years as a classroom teacher. Bergh earned her doctorate degree and specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College, a master’s degree in Teacher Leadership from Walden University, and a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southwestern State University.
She is married to her husband, Brandon, and they have a son, Chandler.
Mrs. Kayla Shumway, Assistant Principal of Instruction
Mrs. Kayla Shumway is a native of Warner Robins, GA and a product of the Houston County School District. After graduating from Houston County High School, she attended Georgia Southern University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education. She also received an MEd in Early Childhood Education as well as an EdS in Elementary Education from Georgia Southern University.
As part of the Houston County School District, she has served as Pre-K Paraprofessional, First Grade Teacher, Third Grade Teacher, and Fifth Grade Teacher. She was awarded Teacher of the Year at Tucker Elementary School for the 2019-2020 school year. In 2021, she was selected as the Assistant Principal of Discipline at Kings Chapel Elementary School and Langston Road Elementary School.
She is married to Christopher Shumway. They have two children, William and Eleanor, as well as two Weimaraners, Maggie and Winnie.
Mrs. Kelly Scarbrough, Assistant Principal of Discipline
Mrs. Kelly Scarbrough is a dedicated educator and leader with 18 years of experience serving students in the Houston County School District. Throughout her career, she has taught grades Pre-K through fourth grade, fostering a love of learning through engaging, hands-on educational experiences.
As both a mother and an educator, Mrs. Scarbrough believes in teaching the whole child and creating a nurturing environment where students feel safe, valued, heard, and supported. She is passionate about building positive relationships with students and helping them develop the foundational academic and social skills needed for lifelong success.
Mrs. Scarbrough views teaching as a calling and is grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children each day. Her commitment to student growth and achievement has guided her throughout her career and continues to inspire her work as an educational leader.
In June 2026, Mrs. Scarbrough was appointed Assistant Principal of Discipline at Langston Road Primary School. In this role, she is dedicated to fostering a positive school culture, supporting students and families, and helping every child reach their full potential.
